Kindhearted workers donate festive treats to children

19 December 2006

Children and parents supported by the NSPCC's Quality Parenting and Family Support Service, based in Bramley, have some Christmas hampers to unwrap this festive season - thanks to the generosity of staff working at Green Flag.

The company based in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, handed over the luxury hampers, containing food, drink, chocolate and other treats, to the NSPCC on Monday December 18th. The Quality Parenting and Family Support team distributed the hampers to families working with the charity.

Green Flag spokesperson, Nigel Charlesworth said: "We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC. At this time of year we thought it would be fantastic that the hampers could be donated to children and their families to enjoy this festive season."

Katie Bland, NSPCC corporate appeals manager for Yorkshire said: "I would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Green Flag for donating the hampers. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and support. These wonderful gifts will bring some Christmas joy to many families. The NSPCC runs a range of projects and services for children, young people and families who need us. Without such generosity it would not be possible to continue our vital services."

The NSPCC Leeds Family Support team provides a range of family support services including intensive family support both at the family home and at the centre in Bramley. It runs a number of specialised programmes including a post natal depression group, a parenting skills group, a play skills group and a group for children and women who have experienced domestic violence. In addition the team carries out specialised rehabilitation work to help reunite looked after children and young people with their birth families.
